David Fernandes elected President of KCA Bangalore

Bangalore, Jun 21: The 42nd AGM of Konkan Catholic Association was held at Konkan Bhavan, Mathikere, Bangalore. The event started at 9:30 AM with Konkani mass celebrated by Rev. Fr. Lawrence D'Souza, Director, St. John's Medical College, Bangalore.

The AGM started at 11:00 AM with welcome address from President Anil Rego. Secretary Vincent Mascarenhas presented the minutes of previous AGM and the annual report. Treasurer Robert Dias presented the financial report of the year.

Later the election of new committee was conducted, which was officiated by Rev. Fr. Lawrence D'Souza and Mr. Gabriel Vaz. Following members were unanimously elected for the year 2009-2011:

President: David Fernandes
Vice President: Sunil Rego
Secretary: Vinod Saldanha
Jt. Secretary: Lancy Dias
Treasurer: Robert Dias
Ulo Editor: Frank D'Souza
Ex-officio: Anil Rego, Vincent Mascarenhas
Committee Members: Irene Sequeira, Gerald D'Souza, Charles Gomes, Lancy Noronha, Lionel D'Souza, Robinson D'Souza, Albina Vaz, Prithvish Pinto, Prem Colaco, Michael D'Souza, Ida D'Souza, Edwin Lobo

Mrs. Irene Sequeira conducted the felicitation program. Rev. Fr. Lawrence D'Souza was conferred the honorary membership of KCA. Mr. Paul Pinto was felicitated and conferred honorary membership of KCA for his yeoman service to the community. The past wardens of the KCA boys hostel were felicitated on this occasion. They are Mr. Lullus Cutina, Mr. David Fernandes, Mr. Michael D'Souza, Mr. Robert Dias. Mr. Camil Rego was unable to attend. Late wardens Mr. AV Rego and Mr. JB D'Mello were also remembered.

Later Mr. Sunil Rego conducted the felicitation program for students who excelled in their academics. President elect Mr. David Fernades spoke a few words and expressed his happiness to lead the association for a third time. Joint secretary Mr. Lancy Dias proposed vote of thanks. The program concluded with delicious lunch.
