Charles Gomes Re-elected as Chairman of FKCA

Bangalore, Jun 7: Mr. Charles Gomes has been unanimously elected as the Chairman of the Federation of Konkani Catholic Associations (FKCA) during its AGM which was held today at Konkan Bhavan, Bangalore. Mr. Naveen D'souza and Ms. Judith D'Cunha were elected as General Secretary and Treasurer respectively.

The office bearers are as follows:

Vice Chairman-1 - Mrs. Albina Vaz
Vice Chairman-2 - Mr. Lullus Cutinha
Treasurer - Mrs. Judith D'Cunha
Joint Secretary-1 - Mrs. Matilda Mathias
Joint Secretary-2 - Mrs. John Sequeira
Legal Advisor - Mr. Jerome D'souza .
Cultural Secretary - Mr. Lionel D'souza
Media Manager - Mr. Jerome D'silva
Spiritual Director - Rev Fr. Henry Saldanha
Immediate Past Chairman - Mr. Valerian Fernandes
Immediate Past General Secretary - Mr. Anil Rego

Rev. Fr. Henry Saldanha presided the elections. Presidents, office bearers and the Executive committee members of all associations were present for the AGM. Mr. Gabriel Vaz, former political editor of The Economic Times was also present.

Federation is in its 12th year of existence. 20 Konkani associations have already been affiliated to the Federation and many more are in the process of affiliating to the Federation. Main aim of the Federation is to unite all the Konkani Catholics, bring political awareness and fight for social justice. Last year, FKCA had got the FKCA officially registered and also got the associations from USA, UK, UAE and Qatar to affiliate with FKCA. Kanara Enterpreneurs meet was also held wherein the enterpreneurs from Kanara region got together for the meet. Federation had launched its own website to bring all the Konkani Catholics together (www.fkca.net). Federation is now aiming to bring together all the Konkani Catholic Associations situated outside India as its associate members. This is likely to give a new dimension to the already launched Kanara Enterpreneurs, Placement and Matrimonial services along with other possible mutual co-operations.

Congratulations to you Mr.Charles Gomes for being re elected unopposed as a Chairman of FKCA today at Konkan Bhavan for next term. God bless you and bestow upon you His choicest blessings and we pray God Almighty to give you strength and courage to do good works for the benefit of all the Konkani Mangaloreans living in worldwide under the banner of FKCA. I am happy that I too was a part of this function held yesterday. I must thank Mr.Gomes for inviting me to attend that function. I wish all the best to FKCA and its office bearers.
