Archbishop of Bangalore sharing the word of love with Sri Shivakumara Swamiji.
Bangalore, Mar 6:
The Archbishop of Bangalore, Most Rev. Dr. Bernard Moras, the Shepherd of over
500,000 Catholics, made his way to continue the inter-religious dialogue in the
holy season of lent to the Siddaganga Mutt located in the Tumkur district of
Karnataka, carrying a message of goodwill and blessing, on the occasion of Sri
Sri Sri Shivakumara Swamiji’s 102nd Birthday Celebration.

The Archbishop expressed his
respect and appreciation for the extraordinary services that the Swamiji is
currently involved in and complemented the Swamiji for his contribution to the
Society. The Archbishop and fellow priests then prayed for, blessed and handed
over a copy of the Holy Bible to Sri Sri Sri Shivakumara Swamiji.

In times such as this, it is certainly heartwarming to see gestures of love,
respect, appreciation and harmony, flowing like a mighty river from God through
his children, reminding and encouraging each one of us, to reach out with hearts
of love to all humankind.
About Sree Shivakumara Swamiji:
Born in 1907, Sree Swamiji has devoted more than 75 years to service to
humanity, hard work and disciplined life. Endowed with sound collegiate
education in English, Sanskrit and Kannada, Sree Swamiji has developed
educational institutions in which the students are exposed to a wide spectrum of
knowledge: from traditional learning of Sanskrit to the modern science and
technology.
Contributions to society:
Sree Swamiji's Guru Kula houses more than 8500 children of age group 5 to 16
years and is open to children from all religions, castes and creeds, who are
provided free food, education and shelter. On his centenary Dr. Sree Sree
Swamiji, in the year 2007, the Government of Karnataka awarded him the
prestigious Karnataka Ratna award, the highest civilian award of the Karnataka
state.

Yes, it is indeed a noble gesture from the part of Most. Rev. Dr. Bernard Moras
to visit the great Swamiji and offer prayers. There is no better time than this
to heal wounds and for inter-religious harmony and dialogue. The more we know
the other religion and values, we tend to become more wise and part of the
better service to the humanity in Praise of God the Almighty. Well Done
Archbishop Bernard. Keep up the good work. We Mangaloreans are very proud of you
and pray for your good health. |
