KCWA RT Nagar AGM and Annual Get-together

Bangalore, Feb 8: Konkani Catholic Welfare Association, RT Nagar held its
General Body Meeting and annual get-together on Feb 8th 2009 at Workers Centre
Nandidurg Road, Bangalore. It began with Mass by Rev. Fr. Sunil Kumar D'Souza,
sharp at 8.40a.m. The message for the homily was keep yourself in centre and
dont neglect your own houses when you do social work or when you keep on
praying. Choir was excellent under the leadership of Pritham and Aaron. Keeping
in mind the Holy Childhood day appealed to the people to donate generously for
the cause and glad to inform that the people really donated generously. Keep it up!
Immediately after the mass breakfast was served and sharp at 10.15 MC Wesley
Fernandes invited the people to assemble in the hall for the meeting. Began with
invoking the hymn of Holy Spirit by Judith D'Cunha and Lighting the Lamp by all
Presidents who were present and Rev Fr. Sunil. Mr. Peter Pinto, President
welcomed the gathering and kept the proceedings moving. The general body report
was read by Derrick Noronha, Secretary's Report was read by Judith D'Cunha.
After passing both the reports and the accounts President dissolved the old committee.
Peter Pinto invited Sq. Ldr. R.P.Monteiro to the dais as Election Officer. All
the nominations received were read and scrutinized by him and he announced the
election results: They are as follows:
1. Mr. E.N.Shenoy - President.
2. Mrs. Judith D'Cunha - Vice President.
3. Mr. Cyril D'Souza - Secretary.
4. Mrs. Leera D'Mello - Joint Secretary.
5. Mr. Arthur Fernandes - Treasurer.
6. Mr. R.I. Fernandes - Comittee Member.
7. Mr. Wesley Fernandes - -do-
8. Mr. Alwyn Pinto -do-
9. Mr. Dennis Pinto -do-
10. Mr. Dennis D'Cunha -do-
Mr. E.N.Shenoy addressed the gathering, thanked them for electing him and
requested their co-operation and support. The New President and the Ex President
led the signatories to the hall for the entertainment programme. Good
entertainment was provided by our members and their children. Lot of games were
conducted and prizes were given the winners. Children were felicitated for
excelling in education. Vote of thanks was proposed by Alwyn Pinto. Get together
was concluded thanking god, followed by baila dance and lunch.
