Konkani Christian Association Mysore Celebrates Republic Day

Mysore, Jan 29: 60th republic day was celebrated in a colorful manner by Konkani
Christian Association on Monday 26th January 2009 at St. Mathais school hall,
Banimantap Mysore. During the occasion 25 senior citizen of age 75 and above
were honored along with 26 students who have excelled in their academic career.
Shri Grecian Rodrigues president KCA during his welcome speech emphasized as the
need for the youngster in the IT/BT sector to recognize and honor the elders in
other sections of the society he appreciated all the awardees for their zeal and
enthusiast and asked them to aim for higher goals. Doctors of St Josephs
Hospital Mysore, who were instrumental in rebuilding the hospital, were
felicitated by chief guest Sri SE D’Souza S.P Lokayuktha, Renowned social worker
Sri Antony Lasrado founder member of KCA and Sr. Section engineer (retd) S.W
railway was also felicitated.
Programme commenced with high
mass in Konkani followed by cultural programme under the banner of memories
group of Mangalore.
Sri John William D’Souza secretary KCA proposed vote of thanks Around 1000
members attended the programme.
