Bangalore, Jan 11: As announced, St. Peter's Konkani Kutam, Rusthum
Bhagh,off old Airport Rd, B'lore had their AGM and also 1st ever picnic after
the formation of SPKK,on 11th January 2009 at Gold Coin Club, a greenery and
quiet resort near Chandapur off Hosur road. The bus containing 60 members with
guests gathered near Leela Palace and left the place and reached to the resort
at 9.45 AM. This resort though, it is away from B'lore city, is quiet, greenery
and right place for fun loving people. It has two swimming pools (children and
elders ), tennis court, billiards, kite flying, gym and other facilities.
The AGM was started with a prayer by Colonel Lobo, followed by Mr.Roy D'Cunha to welcome the gatherings. Afterwards Mr. Jochim, the President, read the annual report followed by a finance report by Mr. Maxi Fernandes. Mr.& Mrs Lobo were felicitated by honoring a shawl for their active part and doing a lot of good things for the formation of this association. Mr.Jochem Saldanha was unanimously elected to continue as President for next 2 years. Mr. Roy D'Cunha as Vice President, Mr. Charles Noronha as Treasurer, Mr.Anthony Montiero as Secretary and Mrs. Patricia Lewis as Joint Secretary and 6 executive members were elected. This followed by a tasteful lunch by the resort. Games were conducted by Mr. Roy D'Cunha. games for elders, games for children, games for mixed were also conducted in a jovial and smooth way. Mr.Leroy Colaco had his base guitar to play and sing lovely Goan, mando and Konkani traditional songs and also old English songs. Baila and other Konkani and English songs were played by Mr. Simon Lasrado as DJ. Everybody was enjoyed this picnic with fun and dance. Everything went on well. Finally Col Lobo proposed vote of thanks. The members left the place at 5.30PM to go back to their destination.
