Christian leaders urge the Government to release victims without any charges

Bangalore, Sep 18: Leaders of various Christian associations met the Home Minister Dr. V.S. Acharya and Hon'ble Chief Minister, Sri. B.S. Yeddyurappa at Vidhana Soudha today.

Former Chief justice of Karnataka High Court, Justice M.F. Saldanha urged the Government to act more responsibly and said the excuse of conversion has to stop. He asked the Home minister to act quickly to restore confidence which the minorities have lost in the Government. He added that the Mangalore incidents have already damaged the State's image. He questioned as to why the Police are arresting victims rather than arresting the real culprits when they openly admit that they are responsible for such acts.

Former DGP of Karnataka, Mr. FTR Colaco asked the Government, as to why they keep on telling about conversions when there is not even a single proof. He demanded the arrest of miscreants. He also urged the Government to release innocents who have been arrested. Mr. Harry D'Souza , Gen Secretary of Karnataka Christian Social Welfare Association, submitted a memorandum.

The Chief Minister and Home Minister said that a COD probe has been ordered. They assured that all the culprits will be arrested and the Government would do everything it can to bring law and order to normal.

DG IGP -Mr. Sri Kumar, Bangalore Police commissioner - Mr. Shankar Bidari, Home Secretary - Mr. Triparti, were present. Mr.B.G. Koshi Sr. Vice President of Karnataka Christian Welfare Association, Mr. Charles Gomes , Chairman of the Federation of Konkani Catholic Associations (FKCA), Karnataka and Ms. Albina Vaz, Vice Chairman (FKCA), Mr. Gabriel Vaz, Political Editor Economic times, Bishop of CSI Church, Priests and nuns were also present.

Earlier, the team met a delegation from National Human Rights Commission and National Minority Commission.

We Catholic should learn a lesson from this. Word of God says without the permission of God not even single hairs will fall. They are attacking not Catholics but Jesus. They need Love, which they were seeking. they are shaking Jesus saying what Christians are talking and practicing is different. Let us Pray for them open their Spiritual Eyes. We catholic become a "Bakra". Hence Let us be united. Our Bishop said it is the New Life people who do the conversion. This is a lose talk; let us come with one single banner.
2 Corinthians 6:14 says do not make unsuitable covenants with those who do not believe can Justice walk with wickedness? or can Light co-exist with darkness, and can there be harmony between Christ and Satan.
