Attack on Fr. Sylvester - FKCA meets Home Minister of Karnataka
Bangalore, June 29, 2007: A delegation of Federation of Konkani Catholic Associations ( FKCA ), met the Hon'ble Home Minister of Karnataka Sri M.P Prakash this morning at his home office and briefed about the shocking incident that took place near Kundapur wherein Rev. Fr. Sylvester Pereira and others were assaulted by some religious fanatics, anti social elements.
Federation raised concern over the safety of Minorities and Urged the Government to take stringent action to control the growth of these religious fundamentalists and anti social activities. Minister informed that the necessary action has been taken against the people involved . He also assured that the Government will take strong measures to tackle such activities.
FKCA also submitted a memorandum to the Home Minister. Federation Chairman Valerian Fernandes and Gen. Secretary Charles Gomes and others were present.
